Since we're talking free food (via our gardens) I thought I'd mention some free food opportunities coming up. This link describes Denny's free grand slam giveaway on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. You should phone your local Denny's first to see if they're participating. Be sure to check times for the free meal.
Secondly, IHOP will be celebrating national pancake day on February 23, 2010 by giving away free shortstacks to customers in the morning. IHOP is asking for donations for local children's hospitals. Again, phone first is my advice.
Lastly, have you seen this article about the bullet trains that may be coming to IL? I'm not sure what I think about a broke government and a broke state putting money into a project like this.....

Bullet train eh? Japan has had this train for years, I believe over 20 years. The article sounds like the mass transit train rail thing their trying to launch here with the state in the hole and out of money.
Yeah it'll create jobs but ah when? People need jobs like NOW. The rail system their trying to do here in Hawaii is a lame one at most it's not only going to cost us tax payers gazillions, I think before it even gets started a lot of bankruptcy's will take place and more people will be lossing jobs and their homes.
Eventually a great part of the population will literally be homeless. We gotta get them poluticians out of office for good!
You're SOOO right, Aloha! The money that will be spent on this project is outrageous! People need tax breaks, they need more of their own money. They don't need their tax money going to build trains. The rail system that the gov't already owns can't support itself. I just can't figure out what those folks in Washington think about. Something seems to affect their brains once they move to DC!
