Confession Time.....

Hi everyone! Can I just say this? Really? Is this a safe place for me to admit something?? Yes? Okay, here goes. You know the homemade laundry soap recipe that have been all over the internet and prepper forums? The recipe that uses the bar of Fels Naptha soap? Well, I.....HATE that stuff!! That's right! I hate it! It's goopy, it's takes FOREVER for the fels naptha to melt, and it doesn't make bubbles! I know, I know, soap doesn't need bubbles to be able to clean. But, I LIKE bubbles! And I hate goopy! But, wait.....there's more than one homemade laundry soap recipe, right?! Definitely! I found it! This new recipe uses Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds and......IT MAKES BUBBLES!!!! That's right! It's not goopy and IT MAKES BUBBLES!!!! I LOVE it! Want to try it? Here's the recipe......

Homemade Laundry Soap
1 cup Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds
2 cups hot water
1/3 cup salt
1 cup baking soda or washing soda
Extra water

Place salt and baking/washing soda in 2 cups hot water until dissolved. Place in a one gallon container. Add Sal Suds. Fill rest of container with water. Stir. (That's it!!) Use 1/4 -1/2 cup per load.

How easy is that? No grating or stirring to melt soap. AND THERE ARE BUBBLES!!! :)

I've used this recipe on three loads of laundry this week; darks, sheets and towels, and whites. All of the loads came out clean and fresh smelling! I'm hooked!

I don't have a cost breakdown of this recipe, although I've seen it on other's sites. I know that it's cheaper than store-bought! And, Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds is cheaper than his castille soap (which could be used in place of Sal Suds if you desired.)

Prep On!

Sounds like something I would like to try. Where can you find the Dr Bronners's Sal Suds?
