Hi everyone! Tomorrow is election day. If you're like me, you're not encouraged by the options that are before you. I mean, this is Illinois. Everyone knows us as the state with the most corrupt politicians. And they all line up, proud of themselves, waiting for us to pick the lesser of 2 evils. Of course, we know that the biggest loser in the whole mess is us. We, the people.
Is that 'lesser of 2 evils' thing working out for us? I don't think so. I encourage you to check this website for candidates in your area. Enter your zip code, it will show the candidates. You can click on them and then on the Candidate Courage Test (on the right hand side of the candidate's page) to see where they stand on certain issues. I was very disappointed at how many of the candidates I looked at didn't fill out their 'test'. Not very courageous folks, I'd say.
If you don't agree with what someone stands for, don't vote for them! Don't just vote party lines! That's like easy money for somebody who has no morals, but is lucky enough to get elected because of the party he represents. Vote 3rd party, or don't vote for anyone at all. Show those you-know-whats that we're tired of it all and we choose NO ONE!! Remember that Republicans and Democrats are basically all the same! They want your money, they want power, they want money from lobbyists. Be very careful how you choose tomorrow. Our state and our country are headed downhill fast, and we have the ability to choose candidates who can try to get us on the right course.

Tuesday is Election Day!
Hi all! Sorry for the short absence. Tomorrow is election day here in IL. I hope that everyone is taking time to research the candidates. We don't need a repeat of the 2008 election where people voted for change, but didn't look to see what kind of change they would be getting! I have a few folks to finish researching today. (A little bit late, I know! Better late than never....) I'll be back in the swing of things after this election is over. I'm ready to cross it off my list!Prep on!

Election Info and a Good Movie
Hi all! I wanted to let you know about a great website that lists ALL of the people running for office in Illinois. This website even has links to the candidates' websites. They show everyone from governor on down to congressman, divided by districts. It's a great resource if you're still trying to figure out who to vote for (like me!). Did you know that we have a Constitution party candidate running for governor? I was very excited to find that out! I'm so tired of the stranglehold that the democrat and republican party have on the election process.
I have to mention something that really irks me! Have you heard someone say that they won't vote for a 3rd party candidate because it will be a vote for one or another of the main contenders (the one they don't want in)? So, they vote for someone they don't really want because he's the lesser of the 2 evils. You know, I'm pretty sure it was a democrat or republican who started that ridiculous way of thinking! What better way to keep us voting for someone we would never in good conscience vote for at any other time. That way of thinking will certainly keep us voting for 'politics as usual' and keep us bogged down with crappy leaders. So, either way the 'republicrats' win! Well, not here. Not now. I've decided I'm going to vote for the person who I want to win, not the person I think will be the better of the 2 cockroaches who are out in front. I would encourage you to vote your conscience, vote for the best person for the job. The best person out of the whole lot, not just out in front. If we all did this, maybe we'd eventually have beeter leaders who are concerned about our liberty. End of rant!
I'm rewatching a great movie right now. It's called The Cinderella Man. It's based on the true story of boxer Jim Braddock who lived during the depression. He became rich and famous before the depression, but lost it all like so many others. Through it all though, he maintains his dignity and honor, and remembers that his family is the most important thing he possesses. It's a beautiful, uplifting story that I'd highly recommend. The movie also shows a glimpse of what life was like during the great depression, something that may be coming (or has already come?) to our country. Remember that the movie contains boxing scenes, and may not be appropriate for all children.

Election Preparedness
Hi all! I've been a bit under the weather,and while I've been sitting here I've been able to catch up on some reading. An article by John Silveira in Backwoods Home Magazine got me thinking about the elections coming upon us here in IL. Now is the time to be researching who we should vote for. There are lots of candidates out there, but the majority of them are not concerned about our freedom or about the Constitution.
"What's the difference between losing our rights to our own politicians and losing them to a foreign invader?" "For our politicians, we roll over. If a foreign invader tried to take them, we'd fight back," says Silveira.
Well folks, until the revolution happens (it's coming, don't you know?), the voting box is our one chance to be heard. Have your senators and representatives been honoring the Constitution? Or have they been giving in to special interests? I know for a fact that our IL Senators have not been honoring the Constitution. It's time for us to encourage these thieves of American freedom to find new jobs! It's time to vote them out of office! Find out if any friends of liberty are running in your district. And if so, tell others about them, and then let them know you support them by giving them your vote.
Otherwise, as John says, we should change the Constitution to say that we don't want free speech, or the right to bear arms, and we DO want the police to be able to make random searches or to eavesdrop on our phone calls without warrants. I mean, if they're going to ignore the Constitution and we're going to let them, then let's just change it so it's not a lie!
So, I have a stack of political ads sitting here, and I'm going through them to figure out what these folks stand for. I encourage you to put time into who you vote for this year. We need good, Constitutional folks in office if we have any hope of restoring freedom. At least we can say we tried!
