What happened?

Hi everyone! Well, were you surprised when you awoke this morning and looked out your window? I sure was! Remember that old saying, "If you don't like the weather in Illinois, just wait a minute. It'll change." Well, that sure was true this week! It made me think of one more great reason why we prep. You NEVER know what is going to happen from one day to the next. Last weekend we had 80 degree temps; this weekend it snowed. Being prepared for whatever life throws at you is priceless!


Thankfully, for us, the snow will melt and we'll go back to normal. This wasn't a major, life-shattering, life-altering event. It's just an annoying blip on the screen. Hang in there! Spring's a'comin'!

Saturday Quickie

Hi everyone! Happy Spring (a day early)!! For me, this is when prepping really kicks into high gear! Seeds are started and coming up, the garden will be planted, and eventually the shelves and freezer will be full of good homegrown food that is stored for the future. I'm gathering my energy and preparing my mind for the (pleasurable) work that coming with spring and summer.
