Hi everyone! Just a few pieces of news this morning.....
I saw this article this morning on the Yahoo news. It gives details about the tomato blight that hit last year, growers' fears for facing it again this year, and what you can do to prevent it. If you've started your own tomato seedlings you've given your plants the best start, it sounds like!
If any of you northerners will be traveling through Libertyville, watch out for the red-light cameras. Apparently, they were activated at four intersections over the weekend. This article will tell you where you should be careful! (Grrrr! I can't stand those things!!!!!!)
And lastly, if you haven't seen this post on the APN, go here to see what the FDA really thinks about your right to choose for yourself! As Phelan says, it's another agency that wishes to save us from ourselves. See if that doesn't make you angry!!

GATSO USA had to go somewhere to set up their scameras after they were kicked out of Buffalo Grove when they tried to peddal their "free money" concept to the BG Village council. They had to go somewhere, Libertyville was close. It's ironic that in a town using the word Liberty in their name is going to start denying citizen's constitutional rights using scameras as a "safety measure". These devices document traffic engineering errors and not one dime of ticket revenue goes towards fixing them, that would lower revenue. Scameras propostions have never survived a public vote!
Barnet, Thanks for the info. Those lights iritate the crap out of me! I think that if we don't fight back, there will be more and more of them and we'll soon be light Great Britian. I love the word scameras! That's great! Thanks for stopping in today!
Ahh tomato blight. We will see what happens with my bunch of maters. 4 store bought... over 20 from seed.
I should get some pics up of my garden and greenhouse. I put in a irrigation water dripping and watering for the whole garden this weekend when I am out fishing or hunting. Anything to make life easier.
Upinak, It'll be interesting to see how your home tomatoes do vs. the store bought. I know last year, my store bought were HORRID, but my home started were perfectly fine! Definitely, put up garden pics. Great job on the drip irrigation! That'll be a blessing for sure!
