There Are So Many Reasons To Prep...........

Hi everyone!! The other day I made mention of Illinois' (ahem) 'budget'. Unfortunately, we aren't the only state that is in the negative. Many more states (dare I say most states) along with the fedgov are in dire straits. We have a wonderful older gentleman friend who has a 50+year old special needs son in a group home in IL. About 2 weeks ago, he got a letter from the home saying that they hadn't received their government funding in about 3 months!! Their explanation is that IL is making cuts (as they should) and they are making cuts to special needs projects. Well, my thinking is that the letter he received is a way of warning him that he'll either have to eventually pay more, or his child is going to have to come home with him. (Now, of course this gentleman wouldn't mind at all having his son home, but the group home gives the son a feeling of independence away from Dad.) I say all this to say that hard times are coming for those that are in any way dependent on government funds. This could lead to a myriad of other problems including discontent, anger, and rioting from folks who are used to 'getting' and no longer do. Please prep!!!

I saw this article this morning on the internet. A pretty good article entitled 'Depression Fears Begin To Take Hold'. The author compares our situation not to the Great Depression of the 30's, but to the depression of 1873 known as the Long Depression because it lasted for 6 years!!!

Lastly, here's a great article over at the APN entitled 'Coming Chaos: No Banks, No Public Facilities, No Food and Rampaging Gangs of Desperate People.' (No mincing words there, eh??)

Folks, any extra jars of food that you can put on your shelves, any gallons of water, any old skills that you can relearn, any food--even a single plant--that you can grow, will put you that much farther ahead in the game of survival.

Prep On!!

Great Post! I find it hard to believe that we will not escape another "Great Depression." I can only hope and pray that Americans come together and help each other survive physically, emotionally and spiritually. Those articles are quite dire and just wish many people would wake up and put some food, water and supplies back. That is too bad about that father/son situation. I worked long term care with physically and mentally challenged adults and teaching and giving them independence is important. I can't help but wonder what will happen to the elderly in nursing homes that have no ability to help pay for their care. :(

Oh, Shelly, I know what you mean. How many people are unable--or sadly, unwilling--to put their lives on hold to care for a family member in need. It's such a sad situation what we're going through in this country. It feels like we're all just sitting on the edge of a volcano, just waiting for it to erupt. It's bubbling and we know it's coming.....we just don't know when. Ugh. Hang in there, sweetie! Thanks for stopping by!!
