Prepper Recipe

Hi everyone!! Sorry for the long absence--hubby and I were on a 2-week camping trip to Colorado and stopped to see family in MO and KS! We had a great time, but I'm glad to be back with this network of people!! I miss it when I'm gone!! I have to take some time to go through my favorite state blogs and check the forum. I don't want to miss anything!!

I have a ground beef hash recipe from my mother-in-law that we just LOVE!! It's so simple, too! It's 1 lb. ground beef, a few sliced, peeled potatoes, 1 packet au jus mix, and the 2 cups water that it calls for. Cover and cook on low until the potatoes are soft and then lift the lid and stir and cook on low until the water is gone.

Well, I needed some good camping suppers, so I figured a way to make this camping-friendly, which also made it prepper-friendly!! Take 1 can of home-canned ground beef (or commercially canned), 1 can potatoes, sliced, with liquid, 1 can corn with liquid, 1 packet au jus. Throw all together in a pan and heat until water is gone. You don't need the entire 2 cups of liquid and you don't have to cook it as long because the potatoes are already cooked!! This was so easy and yummy, and is all from food storage!! Woo-Hoo!! I hope you enjoy it!! (Hubby didn't care for the addition of veggies IN his hash, but I liked it!!)

Prep On!

I am so glad your back. I was beginning to wonder if you were leaving us. I'm glad you had a nice vacation and time to visit and enjoy family. These recipes are awesome. I love the quick few ingredient meals for busy evenings and of course prepping.

Glad your back. :)
